Sound Absorption

Acoustic Absorption (also known as Sound Absorption) deals with the reverberation of sound within a space. Sound will dissipate as it travels but reflects in a similar way to light. For example, someone’s voice may reverberate off a floor, ceiling or wall, causing it to echo. Softer materials will absorb some of this energy, which will help prevent an echoey environment. Acoustic absorption is most commonly linked to retrofit solutions such as wall tiles and furniture – essentially elements which can be added in at the end of a project.
