Types of Flooring
Flooring comes in all shapes and sizes and can completely transform a workplace if chosen properly. At Workplace Interior Shop we offer a large range of different flooring types:
Raised Access Flooring
Within workplaces, there are many utilities that run from desk to desk such as electrical wires and mechanical services. If exposed, these wires are unsightly, can become tangled and pose a serious health and safety risk. Raised Access flooring is the best way to safely and securely incorporate electrical and mechanical services within the workplace. Some businesses may choose raised access flooring simply because it is a lightweight alternative to traditional sand and cement screed. Once installed there is a void underneath the raised access floor that helps to distribute air around the building. There are several options for access levels within a raised access floor. Some businesses may need to access the floor regularly to make changes to services whereas others may only need to access the void once or twice per year. There are many design options available with raised access flooring so whatever finished look you are going for, there will be a floor to suit your needs.
Carpet Tiles & Contract Carpet
Carpet tiles are individual squares of carpet that can be slotted together. They are usually made from a layer of pile fibres with a vinyl backing. Carpet tiles are a fantastic way to add warmth, colour and texture to a workplace. Offices, schools and industrial spaces often use carpet tiles as they are easy to install, low maintenance and long-lasting. For areas with high footfall, carpet tiles are great as they can be replaced individually if they are damaged or stained rather than having to replace the whole carpet. Carpet Tiles are available in a wide range of patterns, shapes and colours meaning they can work within any workplace no matter what the design. No matter what budget you have, carpet tiles are a great choice as they are one of the most cost-effective flooring options on the market.
Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT)
LVT, or luxury vinyl tile, is a type of modular vinyl flooring. Traditionally vinyl floors would be laid in large single sheets, with luxury vinyl tiles, the smaller tiles are laid out individually. Luxury vinyl tiles are manufactured to look like wood or stone but offer added practical benefits. LVT is easy to handle and install as well as being durable and sustainable. In terms of design, there is such a huge range of luxury vinyl tiles available that you can create any look. It is often almost impossible to tell the difference between LVT and hardwood or stone as they can be so realistic. Luxury vinyl tiles are durable and robust making them the perfect choice for most workspaces, they are also waterproof and scratch-resistant. Another benefit of LVT includes improved acoustics due to optional sound-absorbing backing.
