Wall Sound Insulation
Acoustic Insulation for your walls is one of the most common concerns in workplaces due to the likelihood of multiple room buildings and the need for focussed work environments. Our range of sound insulating solutions are perfect for new build projects as well as retrofit concerns. From acoustic dry lining products to flexible partitioning solutions, our products ensure that sound is contained, preventing disruptions and annoying background noise in neighbouring rooms.
Other Wall Sound Insulation Available:
Acoustic Studs (Stud & Track Partitioning)
Stud and track systems are ideal for the erection of lightweight, non-load bearing partitions. They are generally made from a galvanised lightweight steel frame which forms a vertical partition for structures such as dry walls. The system can be fixed to floors and ceilings and has the flexibility to incorporate door and window apertures. Acoustic Studs are uniquely shaped studs used for increased acoustic performance in wall framing. The patented profile shape absorbs sound as it passes through the wall.
Acoustic Office Partitions (75mm)
Acoustic office partitions are suitable for use in workplaces where sound reduction is a priority. For example, installing acoustic office partitions to form a meeting room will contain noise within the room and minimise disturbance to the wider workforce. Browse our range of acoustic partitions to find your perfect solution. They are lightweight and easily relocatable, making them more flexible than traditional brick walling as well as being less labour intensive!
Acoustic Insulation
Acoustic insulation is a fantastic way to achieve multipurpose benefits with one product. Suitable for use in wall partitions and external facing walls, insulation can help you increase energy efficiency while also improving sound insulation quality from room to room.
Acoustic Movable Walls
Movable walls are an excellent way of dividing rooms with maximum flexibility. We understand the need for agile working environments, which is why acoustic movable walls are perfect for open plan offices which require the option to separate spaces into smaller areas. Not only does this create a multifunctional space, it also ensures the partition offers acoustic control and privacy when in use. The systems neatly slide and fold away in seconds.
Acoustic Doors
Don’t forget the finishing touches! Acoustic doors ensure that there are no weaknesses in an acoustically sound structure. If a low quality door is installed, this compromises the acoustic integrity of a wall, allowing sound to travel. However, an acoustic door will maintain the effectiveness of the wall it is installed in, helping to reduce sound transmission and improve privacy when in use.
Key Benefits of Acoustic Insulation:
- Reduced noise travel between rooms
- Increased concentration due to reduction of background noise
- Improved sound quality within rooms
- Improved confidentiality
How do we measure Sound Insulation?
Sound Transmission Class (STC)
Most commonly associated with Sound Insulating products, STC is used to measure the effectiveness of materials in reducing sound transmission between rooms. This rating considers the three most common sound frequencies:
- Decibels – Decibels, dB, are a simple measurement of how loud something is
- Frequency – Frequency, by definition, is the measurement of the time or musical note of the sound
- Transmission Loss – Transmission loss in the measurement of the volume (dB) difference on either side of the wall
An STC rating of 20 is considered very poor while a rating of 60 is considered excellent. For example, an STC rating of 20 means you would be able to hear someone speaking at a low volume through that wall. If the same wall had an STC rating of 60 then you would not be hearing that conversation.
