Dry lining, or in this case dry walling, is often easier than it might initially appear. We’ve simplified how to dry-line a wall in three easy-to-follow steps, using a dot and dab method. For further advice, please seek a professional and thorough guide, and always remember to wear health and safety protection throughout your project.
1. Prepare
Before beginning with your drylining, you will need to ensure you have all the tools and materials required. You can shop more dry lining products here at Workplace Interior Shop. To prepare for the installation process, you will need to clean the existing wall and measure and cut the plasterboard to size.
2. Attach the Plasterboard
The dot and dab method, as the name suggests, requires you to dab drywall adhesives to your existing wall in evenly spaced splodges. You will then need to apply your cut plasterboard to the adhesive by pressing it against it firmly.
3. The Finishing Touches
Once the plasterboard adhesive has dried, you can start to neaten your dry-lined wall. To cover up joints where the boards connect, we recommend plasterboard joint tape. This should create a seamless appearance, ready to be decorated!
