A ceiling grid system, often referred to as a suspended or false ceiling, comprises a framework of metal channels that are interconnected to create a grid. This grid is suspended from the structural ceiling above using wires. The main components include main runners (or tees), which run the length of the room, and cross tees, which connect to the main runners to form the grid. Ceiling tiles are then placed within this grid to create the ceiling surface. The system allows for easy access to ductwork, plumbing, and electrical systems hidden above, while also providing improved acoustics, energy efficiency and a polished look to the space.
