Measuring a window for blinds is a straightforward process that ensures a perfect fit for your office space. Here’s a quick guide:
- Inside Mount (Fitting Blinds Inside the Window Recess) – Measure the width inside the window recess at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the narrowest measurement. Measure the drop (height) in three places from the top of the recess to the sill. Use the shortest measurement for accuracy.
- Outside Mount (Fitting Blinds Outside the Window Recess) -Measure the width where you’d like the blinds to cover. We recommend extending the measurement at least 5cm on each side of the window to minimise light leakage. Measure the height from where you plan to hang the blinds to where you’d like them to drop. Add extra length for optimum light control and privacy.
Always use a metal tape measure for precision and record your measurements in centimetres.
