It’s generally not advisable to walk on PIR insulation boards. While they’re robust for insulation purposes, these boards are not designed to support the weight of a person. Walking on them could damage the boards, reducing their effectiveness and potentially affecting their structural integrity.
If access is necessary over areas where PIR boards are installed, such as in loft spaces, it’s best to use crawl boards or lay down sturdy planks or sheets of plywood to evenly distribute the weight. This helps prevent damage to the insulation.
